I wouldn't say that today was overly that interesting or exciting. I finished some things for my publisher's PR department and Print department concerning the second edition of my first book, but that could have been the most interesting thing today. Something mildly exciting is that I won my apartment complex's raffle and won a $100 credit towards my water bill! That may not be all too exciting to the average few of you, but money I don't have to spend is more money I can either save or spend to hopefully make a whole lot more money in the future. Spoke with me mum and eldest sister, and it was nice to catch up and chat for a bit. A note about bacon tonight; I had breakfast for dinner again and made some of the best bacon ever (it was smoked maple wood, or something like that). One of my first girlfriends in high school hated bacon and swore that she would either never marry anyone that ever consumed bacon, or that individual would have to give it up all together. Luckily, we didn't stay together that long, and it was fate because I really do enjoy bacon, and the other things that ham does produce...or rather pig I suppose I should say. My strawberry cheesecake is baking in the oven as I write and it is looking fantastic so far; now all I have to do is keep it from ballooning and it will turn out fabulously. One of the great keys to making a superlative cheesecake is cooking it nice and slow; remember, it is a custard, not a traditional cake, so thus you cannot bake it as thus. I watched "Rango" tonight for the first time ever and I loved it. It was animated with great wit, and Johnny Depp provided an awesome character voice. ILM (Industrial Light & Magic) delivered some fine animation as well, but what else could you expect from the company that did
Star Wars and the
Transformers films. It had a good story, good characters, good plot, and reminded me a lot of
Cat Ballou which similarly was an old western with quite a humorous edge, and it even had a couple of really good gunslingers. Back to
Rango though, I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to film goers for something light, witty, and highly entertaining (I got quite a few deep belly laughs). I'm therefore giving it a
"Strong Ability" despite Hans Zimmer's music sounding very similar to
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Cheesecake is almost done; now it just has to sit in the oven for at least another 30 minutes and then voila!
