OPENING FRIDAY

"BULLY" -- Thirteen million kids will be bullied this year in the United States; this documentary about bullying in American schools follows five of them and their families. Directed by Lee Hirsch. (PG-13 for intense thematic material, disturbing content and some strong language, all involving kids.)

"SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN" -- "Twilight Saga" star Kristen Stewart, full of sword-and-scorcery chops, takes a stab at the old fairy tale; a story for kids it's not. Charlize Theron (in some way cool costumes) is the evil queen out for Snow's still-beating heart, and Chris Hemsworth (aka Thor) is the huntsman who becomes her protector and mentor. Directed by Rupert Sanders. (PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, and brief sensuality.)

"21 JUMP STREET" -- Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum star as two police officers posing as high school students for an undercover mission to nab a drug dealer in this sort-of remake of the late '80s television show. Also starring Ice Cube. Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. (R for crude and sexual content, pervasive language, drug material, teen drinking and some violence.)

"THE AVENGERS" (3-D, digital, 35mm) -- Iron Man. Thor. Captain America. Black Widow. Hawkeye. The Incredible Hulk. Superhero puppetmaster Nick Fury brings them all together to take on Thor's evil brother, Loki, who plots to unleash alien baddies on Earth. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hiddleston. Directed by Joss Whedon. (PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action throughout, and a mild drug reference.)

"BATTLESHIP" (digital) -- Loosely inspired by Hasbro's classic low-tech naval-warfare game, this special-effects-laden action-adventure flick pits battleships against invading aliens. Starring Taylor Kitsch, Liam Neeson, Alexander Skarsgrd, Brooklyn Decker and Rihanna. Directed by Peter Berg. (PG-13 for intense sequences of violence, action and destruction, and for language.)

"THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL" -- A group of British retirees travel to India to spend their golden years at a newly restored hotel, but find the accommodations to be less than palatial. Starring Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Dev Patel and Tom Wilkinson. Directed by John Madden. (PG-13 for sexual content and language.)

"THE CABIN IN THE WOODS" -- Five friends who go for a break at a remote cabin in the woods get more than they bargained for in this horror flick from Joss Whedon. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Connolly, Fran Kranz, Anna Hutchison, Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford. Directed by Drew Goddard. (R for strong bloody horror violence and gore, language, drug use and some sexuality/nudity.)

"CHERNOBYL DIARIES" -- A group of "extreme tourists" discover they are not alone while touring the abandoned town in Russia where the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor used to live. Starring Jesse McCartney, Jonathan Sadowski, Olivia Dudley and Ingrid Bolso Berdal. Directed by Bradley Parker. (R for violence, some bloody images and pervasive language.)

"CHIMPANZEE" (digital) -- The latest Disneynature documentary focuses on cute little Oscar, an orphan who is adopted by a male guardian, apparently a rarity in chimp societies. Narrated by Tim Allen. Directed by Directed by Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield. (G)

"DARK SHADOWS" -- Director Tim Burton revives the cult TV soap opera about centuries-old vampire Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp), who experiences culture clash when he awakes in 1970s America. Also starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Helena Bonham Carter and Jackie Earle Haley. (PG-13 for comic horror violence, sexual content, some drug use, language and smoking.)

"THE DICTATOR" -- Sacha Baron Cohen plays the role of a nutty tyrant from the Republic of Wadiya, Gen. Admiral Aladeen, who wanders around New York City causing trouble. Also starring Anna Faris and John C. Reilly. Directed by Larry Charles. (R for strong crude and sexual content, brief male nudity, language and some violent images.)

"THE HUNGER GAMES" -- An adaptation of Suzanne Collins' hugely successful dystopian-futuristic novel about Katniss Everdeen, a girl who must participate in a televised competition that forces teenage boys and girls to fight until one survivor remains. Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland and Lenny Kravitz. Directed by Gary Ross. (PG-13 for intense violent thematic material and disturbing images, all involving teens.)

"THE LUCKY ONE" (digital) -- A Marine (Zac Efron) travels to North Carolina after serving three tours in Iraq and searches for the woman he believes was his good luck charm during the war. Based on the Nicholas Sparks novel. Also starringTaylor Schilling and Blythe Danner. Directed by Scott Hicks. (PG-13 for some sexuality and violence.)

"MEN IN BLACK III" (3-D) -- Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones return to fight aliens in a time-traveling action comedy that adds Josh Brolin as the young version of Jones' Agent K. Also starring Jemaine Clement and Emma Thompson. Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld. (PG-13 for sci-fi action violence, and brief suggestive content.)

"THE PIRATES! BAND OF MISFITS" (3-D and digital) -- Hugh Grant, Salma Hayek and Jeremy Piven provide the voices for the latest animated adventure by the "Chicken Run" crew, about a high-seas scalawag competing for the "Pirate of the Year" award. Directed by Peter Lord and Jeff Newitt. (PG for mild action, rude humor and some language.)

"THINK LIKE A MAN" -- Four men (Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrera, Terrence Jenkins, Romany Malco) turn the tables on their significant others (Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union, Regina Hall, Meagan Good) when they discover the women have been using a relationship guru's advice book against them. Also starring Kevin Hart. Directed by Tim Story. (PG-13 for sexual humor, some crude language and brief drug use.)

"WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING" -- Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Banks and Anna Kendrick are the expectant mothers in this rom-com reworking of the best-selling pregnancy bible. Also starring Chris Rock, Dennis Quaid, Matthew Morrison, Brooklyn Decker and Joe Manganiello. Directed by Kirk Jones. (PG-13 for crude and sexual content, thematic elements and language.)
