What happens when a vampire nobleman wake of the 'long sleep' and found in the surrounding environment has changed drastically? That is the fate of Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp) who have spent two decades buried.
Bad luck has to be endured because Barnabas broke the heart of a witch, Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green), a figure from the past that condemned a blood-sucking creatures. Not enough to change into a strange creature, a vampire, Barnabas was buried alive by the wizard.
Now that is free from punishment, Barnabas had no choice but to return to his old home, Collinwood Manor which is now occupied by his descendants. Not much different from the condition as a vampire, a new family of Barnabas is a collection of eccentrics. Not enough with its mission to adapt to the new family, Angelique shadows reappear.
