This subject matter has been making the rounds among my circle of friends. It started as a "who I would go gay/straight for." But I'm bisexual, so it kind of lost a bit of meaning. It's more of a "look at the pretty people in my mental harem." Plus, my Extra Large Thing that I promised last week still isn't ready for human consumption, so I plan to distract you with beautiful people while I get that in order.
A brief explanation: I have a mental harem of all gorgeous people I have ever seen (or not… there's a couple of fictional characters) In making this list, I tried to avoid the really obvious choices (which is why Karl Urban is not listed… he's DEFINITELY in there).
Introducing The Straight Half of My Harem
John Barrowman
Seriously. This man is fine. I know he's gay, but in my mental harem none of that really matters. Just look at those eyes! Just look at them and tell me you don't instantly melt.
Johnny Depp
This may be an obvious one, but come on. This man does not age! I don't know how he does it, but he's just as sexy, if not MORE sexy, now than he was on 21 Jump Street.
Brat'ya Grim
What can I say, I have a thing for twins. These were the front men for one of my favorite bands. My favorite twin (the one of the left, yes I can always tell them apart) has since left the band, which made me really sad. But their new album is so good that I still love them (despite the remaining twin currently having a mullet that is a crime against humanity).
Tom Hardy
Mmmm. Just look at those lips. Have you ever seen more beautiful lips? I don't really know anything about Tom Hardy. I don't really need to.
Sam & Dean Winchester
Both of them are in my harem, but specifically, Sam. This is one of those instances where I find the CHARACTER more interesting and sexy than the actor portraying him. I love Jared Padalecki. He's just adorable. But Sam? unf. Sam and the snake? *brain asplode*
The current head of the straight side of my harem is Doppelganger Dean (he of the maybe-he-maybe-he-isnt-flirting). Sadly I do not have a photo of him (not that I haven't tried) Honestly I would not have posted it even if I did find one, out of respect for his privacy (yeah, my sense of propriety is a bit skewed… I don't respect him enough to not cyberstalk him but I do respect him enough not to share the secrets I've found.) Just pretend that's him standing next to Sam in the post up there.
On to the Gay Half of my Harem
For the first 27 years of my life, I identified as straight. This is not to say that I was not attracted to women, I just never really recognized it for what it was because I was definitely attracted to men. I never looked any further. Anna Phoebe
She was the violinist with Trans-Siberian Orchestra when I first saw them. Flames, lasers and skin-tight black leather. I was a goner. She is the first woman that I looked at and recognized my attraction for what it was and thus got me to really sit down and look inside and question "Am I little bit gay?" The answer is undoubtedly yes. She has since left Trans-Siberian Orchestra (why?! why do they do this to me?!).
Leonor Varela
She is an actress that played Cleopatra is a made for TV historical drama. And she made a very… VERY sexy Cleopatra. I'd have gone to war with Rome for her too.
Sexy Violinists
The Twins – The two violinist that were in Vitas's video for Lucia Di Lammermoor (which was his take on the Diva scene in the Fifth Element). I don't actually know who these women are. Don't care. They are very sexy and my favorite part of this video.
I've mentally christened them "The Twins" not because they're related (because as I said, I know nothing about them), but because as I've said, I have a thing for Twins. Sexy, sexy twins.
