Kathryn Leigh Scott, best known for creating the role of Josette Du Pres, vampire bride to Barnabas Collins in the classic TV show "Dark Shadows," is also an author and publisher. Kathryn has just co-written the nonfiction book Dark Shadows: Return to Collinwood, which coincides with the upcoming feature release, directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp. She, along with other members of the original cast, have cameos. The book is an in-depth look at five decades of the classic Gothic horror soap opera. She has also written other books that appeal to fans of "Dark Shadows."
In addition, she wrote The Bunny Years, a 25-year history of the Playboy Club told through the stories of women who worked as bunnies, which was optioned for the short-lived NBC series "Playboy Club."
Last year Kathryn published her first work of fiction, Dark Passages, a vampire romance novel. As a publisher, she founded Pomegranate Press, which offers a wide range of entertainment and industry books.

I read The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes in one long delicious inhalation. I love the book and immediately passed it along to friends. I'm a great fan of his writing, and this latest book is one of his finest.
The Medusa Amulet is written by my friend Robert Masello, who writes historical fiction: profoundly moving stories that are both fast-paced and rich in detail.
I often dip into two slim volumes of exquisite poetry written by friends: Choice Words by Randy Blasing and The Blue Darter by Keven Bellows.
My bookshelves are crammed with the almost complete collections of mysteries by Marjorie Allingham, Agatha Christie, Dorothy Sayers, Ngaio March, P D James and Josephine Tey. If I awaken at night, I reach for one of these comforting paperbacks to savor until I drift off again.
