Hi Ho Silver Away! « whizzbang 1698

The Lone Ranger is a story of two outcasts bonded by adversity at a time when the lines between right and wrong have become blurred and Director Gore Verbinski, is the latest person to adapt the story and a new full-length trailer of the forthcoming Lone Ranger movie has been released. The film stars Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer as The Lone Ranger & goes back to the beginning of The Lone Ranger’s story and explains how Texas ranger John Reid, played by Armie Hammer, came to be the Lone Ranger after a brush with death, and where he met Native American Tonto (Played by Johnny Depp), who is seeking justice for wrongs done to his people.

Tonto urges John to take on his crime-fighting alter ego The Lone Ranger, and Because he is thought to be dead by the townsfolk Reid decides to hide his identity with a mask and teams up with Tonto to battle greed and corruption, telling him ‘If we ride together, we ride for justice.’ The film also stars Helena Bonham Carter. I’m also hoping they use the “William Tell Overture” It wouldn’t be right without that. Incidentally Johnny Depp’s look for the film is symbolic and was inspired by the Native American paintings “I Am Crow” and ‘Warrior’by Kirby Sattler.

The Lone Ranger first appeared in a radio show in 1933, before being transferred to the black and white TV show in 1949, starring Clayton Moore as the Lone Ranger and Jay Silverheels as Tonto. There were also two previous attempts at Lone Ranger films in 1981 and a TV movie in 2003, but they weren’t received as well as expected by fans. I used to watch repeats of the TV show on Saturday Mornings, I thought it was great fun, anyway The Lone Ranger is due for release in the UK on 9th August 2013.
